A new decade and a new look for WAMP, the Hungarian design market. Back with a fresh look and feel, in February, WAMP will emerge with a whole heap of innovation.
Both the fair and its designers will present fresh images, in the form of the likes of new design talents and new-look and concept installation. It’s a chance to check out the latest design trends, through diverse, innovative, contemporary local design, from around 100 Hungarian designers. It’s also an opportunity to meet the designers themselves.
WAMP pays particular attention to supporting talented, new designers. Viktória Csepleő has been presented with February’s designer of the month award by the fair, and has enhanced its atmosphere with her gonzo look and label – Alice In Wonderland, Black And White Nightmare – unique shoes and accessories, and her Suck Right! shoes and accessories collection consisting mainly of leather and limited edition pieces. She studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, and her techniques and ideas have developed notably over the years. At the beginning of her career, she produced mostly for herself before expanding her supply to include brooches, key holders, belts, bangles and necklaces. Her motto, “It’s not the material, but the design” highlights the fact that, for her, encounters with new kinds of materials lead to the execution of particularly imaginary products.
