Tradition and Renewal in the Hungarian Royal Court 1458-1490

Matthias Corvinus was the first Renaissance ruler in Central Europe and is perhaps the most famous personality in Hungarian folk tales. In this special exhibition, Hungarian public and religious collections as well as famous international works are visiting from prestigious institutions.

The court is presented from different points of view, including the personalities of the royals, the financial background of the glorious campaigns sponsoring the arts, feasts and festivals, as well as everyday life. It is made up of portraits, statues and codices, all giving an image of the humanist center of the movement and focusing on the Central European region.
