Tempestuous Times

Contemporary dance hub, Central Europe Dance Theater, in celebration of their 20th birthday this year, dove into a pioneering art project some months ago.

Working with three young choreographers, József Hámor, Melinda Virág and Zsuzsa Jónás, they’ve taken Shakespeare’s The Tempest as an inspirational springboard and used it as their base to induce a dialogue going beyond artistic forms, attitudes and styles. Using the symbol system of the master’s drama, composers, choreographers and other contemporary theater staples, the likes of Csaba Szögi and Krisztián Gergye, have been slowly weaving their ideas together through an unusual communication. Watch the result in their Bethlen Gábor tér headquarters!
