Enter a special chatroom to follow Ariadne’s path paved of dreams. Step inside and into the world of voices and ideas and make your way through a network of junctions. Choose, decide, think and roam! But how can you find your way out?
Today, there’s no household without at least one screen or a keyboard with which we chat, blog, send messages or share info. We communicate through this digital sphere of reality. We are the children of the World Wide Web. But do we really meet at this virtual field or are we being mind-tricked?
As the border between real reality and virtual reality gets washed away, so are the frameworks of theater. Most attempts of contemporary and experimental theater try to decrease the distance between the audience and the performance. So, can we create a real artistic bond and communication when using multimedia techniques?
The Élőkép Company and the recently formed House of the Third Sound (Harmadik Hang Háza) have been experimenting with projecting theater into the interactive multimedia space. Joining forces with the students of the Moholy-Nagy Art University, they’ve brought us Crosswalkers (Átjárók), a labyrinth where the artist and the audience mingle and meet, create and communicate together.
Crosswalkers seeks answers to the question of how audiences interact, affect and become part of a performance. With their presence, actions and reactions, they are the one who’ll make this work a complete whole. Try to find the exit from the (net)labyrinth. If there is one…
