Exploring Your Intestines

You’ve had your polymer preserved head buried in liquid silicone rubber if you’ve missed the arrival of Bodies… The Exhibition in Budapest.

Legs, ligaments and lips are all on display in this eye-poppingly amazing exhibition which has been an unprecedented success in locations such New York, London, Washington, Mexico City, Amsterdam and Prague, attracting over 7 million visitors. It showcases meticulously dissected real human body specimens, giving you the opportunity to view the complexity of your organs and systems.

All in all, there are more than 200 organs and full body specimens on display in nine different galleries. It really brings those old biology lessons to life as you can see what happens to lungs if you smoke too much and how your muscles stretch during sports. The specimens have been obtained from Dalian Medical University Plastination Laboratories in China and permanently preserved using liquid silicone rubber.

It’s not as squeamish as you might think, and is certainly appropriate for children, serving as an educational experience, helping them understand all the bits that are working away inside. It’s this combination of entertainment and education which has attracted so many people thus far, and there are no signs that the popularity of the exhibition is waning.
