Experience the Taste of Highlands in the Heart of the City

Opened in 2002 on Dohány utca, Pántlika Wine House offers an excellent selection of Hungarian wines. The 100-square meter shop sells Pántlika Winery’s own nectars produced in Dörgicse, a picturesque old village located in the beautiful upland area near Balaton blessed with a favorable microclimate and soil for viticulture.

On the winery’s 40- hectare area, light, balanced and reductive wines are created, which have rightly won plenty of awards at various prestigious wine competitions over recent years.

Besides Pántlika’s own quality products, more than 200 different kinds of wines from 25 prominent Hungarian cellars can be found on the shelves, from old vintage specialties to the freshest wines. Searching for wine accessories as well? You do not have to look anywhere else, because the shop sells everything you might need: a wide range of corkscrews, wine bottle drip-stop rings, thermometers, decorative glasses, decanters as well as tasteful wrought iron and wooden wine racks for storing your collection in style. Don’t leave the shop without treating yourself to top quality handmade Italian chocolate, which boasts a taste that superbly complements wine.

Pántlika Borház is also a good choice if you are looking for a personalized gift for your loved ones, as individual labels can be made for any bottle you choose in only a couple of minutes. For instance, you could order one reading “wine not marry me?” for the special occasion when you decide to get down on one knee and pop the question, or order a vintage as old as your lover for their birthday bash.

Ferenc Veszely’s paintings are in perfect harmony with the cozy environment and there is also a separate room for tastings, which can comfortably fit a group of 25-30 people who want to enjoy fine wines and snacks for a reasonable price.

Open on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Pántlika Borház is awaiting wine lovers with quality products, a colorful wine palette, special offers each month and a constantly changing stock in Budapest’s 7th district. The wine house will also have a stand at the 17th Budapest International Wine and Champagne Festival in Buda Castle between September 10th and 14th.
