Enticing Goose Delicacies

This November, Sofitel Budapest Maria Dorottya offers its guests exquisite goose delicacies; the most famous French specialty made of goose being Foie Gras.France is the greatest producer of Foie Gras both in quality (it claims more than 80 % of the world wide production) and in quality too. For a long time, the tasty dish has belonged to the French cultural and culinary heritage. Foie Gras is made from the livers of duck or goose as these birds have the tendency to store fat naturally, due to their migratory nature.

The most important distinction is the one between Foie Gras being made from either duck or goose. The former has a powerful aroma, whereas the latter is more subtle and delicate. It is also possible to cook your own Foie Gras from fresh liver, garnished with truffles for example, which is another succulent specialty of French cuisine.

Foie Gras reveals all its flavor and aroma with wine, especially fruity and sweet white wines. Furthermore, when eating Foie Gras you don’t need to worry about your health: consumption of confit, Foie Gras, goose and duck fats is actually beneficial to your health: Foie Gras can even help prevent coronary disease!

The Sofitel Budapest Maria Dorottya’s talented chef Alain Losbar knows how to enhance his Autumn menu with a goose dish or two. So why not join us at Paris Budapest Cafe this November and taste Foie Gras or another of his goose creations?
