Dance Like Dionysus

The half-human, half-beast forest demigods, the satyrs were companions of Dionysus, the god of wine and passion in Greek mythology.

The celebration held in early spring in honor of him was not only the feast of new wine but a dramatic festival, too, in which satyric drama and comedy originated. Local contemporary dance staple, Krisztián Gergye is a well-known devoted fan of Dionysus and a hard-set anti-suppression freedom fighter. In The Satyr he reclaims the right for lost and denied ecstasy and pleasure, and you can catch it in March, along with a related special FUNZINE Club event on the 12th.

March 12, 13 at 8 p.m.
