Join the stylish crowd of top Hungarian craftsmen and designers and browse their colorful collections at the year’s first open-air WAMP. WAMP, the Hungarian design market, presents the latest design trends, through diverse, innovative, contemporary local designs created by more than 100 Hungarian designers.
A stroll though the reliably variegated market is also a great opportunity to meet the designers behind the creations in person themselves.
WAMP pays particular attention to supporting talented local designers. In April, a group of five designer talents have been presented with the WAMP Designer of the Month Award. The artists behind the Balllon collective (aye, Balllon, it’s not a typo) offer a clothing and accessories collection for those with a taste for expressing “individuality and playfulness”, we’re told. “Balllon is a community, where shapes, colors and cuts mingle to represent noble elegance, lifting you above daily routine grayness”, apparently. Their headquarters, the Balllon Showroom and Gallery in the 13th district (Újlipótváros have a friendly, informal atmosphere where you can get a peek into the label’s secrets while the designers are creating complete wardrobes for their customers. The designers themselves are there to help you find the best fitting dresses and accessories as a basic Balllon policy is to maintain a close relationship between designers and customers.
Spring to sunny Erzsébet tér on April 18th, meet the Balllon collective and the crème de la crème of young Magyar Design!
