Kowalsky meg a Vega have become a regular fixture on the Hungarian pop scene since forming in 1999. The band made up of Kowalsky (vocals, lyrics), Rob Juhász (guitar, vocals), Petya Újvári (drums, sampler) and Csaba “Jimmy” Szórád (bass, vocals) are now onto album number four. Their first album, Pimasz grimasz, set the mold for their mix of pop, rock and groove. These guys have heart-felt and deep lyrics, but as I guess this is lost on most of us so we’ll just have to sit back and enjoy the musical inventiveness, the smooth beats and grizzly voice of Kowalsky with big pop choruses that demand we wave our lighters in the air while hugging our best-mate and pretending we know the words.
