Visit the Great Market Hall (A.K.A Central Market Hall, or Vásárcsarnok, if you want to go local) at the Pest end of the Liberty Bridge, to combine shopping with sightseeing. A great place to stroll, esepcially now, in the colder, rainier of weather, the three-storey hall offers heaps for you and yours to do and see. Expect to be able to spend a a good few hours there, as the sights, smells and the striking building’s sheer size and splendor make it one of the city’s must-sees.
Over three days in December, the Great Market Hall will be offering an opportunity to grab a tast (or a tipple) of home – if, indeed, Britain is your particular mother-land. Explore the produce of Her Majesty’s Isle, and discover a range of goods and services available in Budapest. It’s set to be a great chance to find out where to head for some homeland (or exotic) treats, while getting your Christmas cupboards stocked and your gift list worked on. There’s also a great line-up of entertainment and workshops in store.
