Váraljai Naturaház is one of Hungary’s best organic stores. Opened three years ago, the family business aims to satisfy the needs of health conscious customers. You can find a wide selection of organic products here, from fruits and vegetables to environmentally friendly cleaning products. We asked Mrs. Váraljai, the owner of the shop, to shed light on her venture.
Where does your commitment to organic products come from?
As a journalist, I know what an influence mass communication can have on people. The media want us to give up thinking and stop taking responsibility for our independent decisions. However, those who visit organic stores are aware of potential health dangers and try their best to avoid the impact of advertisements and follow their freewill, like me and my husband. Among other things, that’s what homeopathy taught us; it helped us to develop a holistic view of life and switch to a healthier lifestyle.
What were the most important things for you when you decided to open an organic shop?
First, it is essential that our customers receive a first-class service and that they can shop in a friendly environment and enjoy themselves. Of course, expertise is also a necessity. Our stock has been adapted to fulfill the widest needs so that everyone, from the macrobiotic customer to those who are only experimenting with organic products, can leave the shop satisfied. Over the years, we have developed a loyal customer base. As Nagykovácsi is only 12 km away from Budapest’s center, we have plenty of customers from the capital. We aim to satisfy every need and give everyone extra-special attention. In addition, we lay special emphasis on children, providing a little play corner for them where they can occupy themselves while their parents are shopping.
Winter and the holiday season are almost here. Have you got any special offers?
Winter is knocking on our door, so we have loads of herbal teas and other natural medicines in stock to help stave off cold and flu symptoms.
