The Spirit of Christmas at three excellent gastro places.
Gerbeaud
Visit the legendary Gerbeaud patisserie during the not-to-be-missed Budapest Christmas Market, on the holiday-happy sparkly-lit Vörösmarty tér, and you’re in for a real Hungarian holiday experience. Foamy-creamy sweet-scented hot chocolate, flavorful, masterful cakes, marvelous mulled wine and the essential holiday pastry, bejgli, will make your visit unforgettably delicious and delightful!
No need to slave away in the kitchen for the holidays. Celebrate the Hungarian way, with traditional cakes and pastries – just pick them up at Gerbeaud! And if you’re busy in the kitchen after all, they even deliver! And for a special, local, glamorous gift, take a Gerbeaud gift pack stuffed with sweets to your sweetheart, family or friends.
In addition to traditional Hungarian holiday goodies, the patissiers at Gerbeaud also use their genius to make macaroons in the French style, or the taste-bud-tempting Royal chocolate cake. On a chilly December day, what could be cozier than a Coffee and Bailey’s cake? And there’s no gift as gracious as a golden-wrapped box of bonbons, sugar cookies, fruit cake or fruit bread, bursting with the quality and taste you expect from Gerbeaud.
Celebrate with Gerbeaud!

Borssó Bistro
Okay, we already loved Borssó Bistro, with its French fusion cuisine and live jazz acts, but what they have up their apron sleeve now is simply awesome. They threw together a great Christmas selection (with the likes of five-spice pumpkin cream soup or Christmas spiced supreme chicken with fennel and French layered potatoes, mmm…) and, wait for it, all this can also be take away. With the help of sous vide technology – where vacuum-packed meat is baked at a low temperature – the delightful dishes will preserve all the vitamins and minerals. Take them home, and it’ll take only 15 minutes from your precious pre-Christmas-getting-ready time to conjure an enchanting, mouthwatering Christmas dinner. Just re-heat the vacuum-packed dish in a 60-65°C bain-marie, then bake it until a little crispy from the outside. Why wouldn’t you want to present a gourmet, top-notch Christmas dinner – one that’s normally only possible in first-class restaurants – to your loved ones? With their special users’ guide, even the most hopeless in the kitchen can easily enchant their special someones. We don’t say it’s cheap, but 100% success and totally stress-free Christmas preparation is guaranteed.
