Disney does what Disney does best and serves up a happy, smiley film you can sing and dance along to. Whereas the two prequels to High School Musical 3 were made only for television, a decision has been made to put the third one on the big screen. We meet the same cast of characters we know and love, now in their final year, as well as some freshmen to keep things from getting boring. There are fears amongst the friends that they will soon be parted as their lives go off in different directions. How do they explore their feelings, worries and hopes? In the only way they know how; by staging a spring musical extravaganza.

Life as a stoner is generally pretty good – that is unless you witness a murder committed by a drug lord and a corrupt cop and then leave your roach at the scene and, because you were smoking such a unique strain of weed, can be tracked down by the drug lord via the network of dealers. Pineapple Express has a superbly bizarre premise for a film that, even when seen in cinemas with an anti-pot smoking policy, makes you giggle like a schoolgirl. The stoner buddies run around town, get so stoned that they fall asleep for 18 hours straight, get arrested, de-arrest themselves and smoke lots and lots to keep themselves mellow in what might otherwise be quite a stressful situation.

Immigrants (L.A. Dolce Vita)

We are all immigrants! You’re most probably an immigrant in Hungary reading a film review written by an immigrant about a Hungarian immigrant who goes to L.A. in the land of the free, lives with a Russian immigrant called Vladislav and is looking for the ‘American Dream.’ What makes you different is that you’re probably not a cartoon character in a hilarious tale, which could also be seen as a ‘what not to do’ list for new immigrants. The star, Joska, finds himself in a seemingly endless stream of troubles, wild adventures and comical situations. The only thing that saves Joska from a fate worse than L.A. is his big heart and loyalty to his new Russian friend.

Some people have names that leave them no choice but to become bad-ass, tough-nut anti-heroes. Mr Payne is one of those people. Based on the dark and dastardly computer game that, back in the crazy days of 2001, left you going slightly psychotic alone in your bedroom with your PC, we follow the story of Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg), a cop who breaks the rules and investigates his family’s death. It soon leaves him hunted by the police, the mob and a ruthless corporation. Wahlberg excels at being dark and brooding and strikes up a wonderful onscreen partnership with Mila Kunis (Meg’s voice in Family Guy), who plays an assassin desperate for her own revenge.
