Kung Fu Panda
Legend tells of a legendary warrior whose kung fu skills were the stuff of legend… or so says kung fu fan and lazy noodle shop worker Po at the beginning of this CG-animated comedy. Jack Black lends his voice to the unlikely superhero as he gets to study alongside his idols, the Furious Five, under the leadership of their guru Master Shifu. Set in the “legendary” world of Ancient China this under-dog-comes-good tale is primarily about making the audience laugh. However, it is also a tale of self belief as Po emerges from the suffocating pouch of his parent’s fast-food shop to save the valley from impending doom.
The film will be shown in English at MOM Park.

The Bank Job
Not just another British crime film, The Bank Job is the real-deal based on a true story so sensitive to the British establishment that when the crime took place in 1971 the story was quickly gagged by the state.
Not just another British crime film, The Bank Job is the real-deal based on a true story so sensitive to the British establishment that when the crime took place in 1971 the story was quickly gagged by the state.
Using an “inside source” and purporting to reveal the truth for the first time, the film unravels the tale behind one of the biggest robberies in British history. However, as suspected at the time, jewelry and cash were not the true target for all those involved. The bank vault’s real secrets had the ability to shake the most unshakable of British traditions – the Royal Family. As usual when dealing with the British royals expect murder, corruption and sex scandals.

St. Trinian’s
This is a school where you wouldn’t want your daughter to end up. It’s chaotic, violent, sadistic and will soon be closed down due to financial problems. However, as this energetic film shows, even “uncontrollable” girls can come good as they battle to save the school from closure using all of their best (and worst) qualities in pursuit of their goal. Though one of the films most employed selling points has been to highlight that it features young girls running around in short skirts, there is more to the film than this, as it touches on the bonds of adolescent friendship and how those who are put down can prove everyone wrong if they put their minds to it.

Mamma Mia!
After a hiatus the musical is thankfully back, as Hollywood realizes that people go to the cinema to have a good time. And that’s exactly what this musical romantic comedy is all about. The story line is brilliantly absurd, following the troubled wedding preparations of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) as she tries to find out which one of her mother’s past lovers is her father in time for her big day. It’s a race against time that she won’t win and so she invites all three potential fathers to the ceremony to see what happens. Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and the king of the rom-com Colin Firth turn out good performances.
