Enjoy a host of brand new French films online during Filmklik.hu’s French Film Month, May 14-June 11.
The festival
follows the hugely successful Online European Film Month last December, and presents a dozen French titles online. These films have never been in cinemas in Hungary, but represent the crème de la crème of French film production over the past years. The line-up reads as follows:

The films are available from May 14th to the public in the form of video-on-demand. The films, in French with Hungarian subtitles, are 750 forints each for a streamed version that can be seen for 48 hours, but cannot be burnt to DVD.
The highlight of the festival is the final film of the late Alain Robbe-Grillet, entitled C’est Gradiva qui vous appelle. The villain of the French film industry, who scripted L’année dernière á Marienbad almost 5 decades ago, died recently. Two directors from the line-up, Philippe Garrel and Laurent Cantet, have new entries in competition this year at the Cannes Film Festival.
Filmklik visitors at the French Film Month will have the chance to “meet” these directors, since Filmklik provides a link to the Red Carpet Event of the Cannes Festival. “Klikkers” may get a glimpse of Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Wim Wenders, Clint Eastwood, Robert de Niro, Benicio del Toro, Gwyneth Paltrow, Penelope Cruz, or Scarlett Johansson walking up to the Palais du Festival.
The French Film Month line-up will be reviewed by the founders of Madzag TV, an online production team of young Hungarian filmmakers, including Ferenc Török, Diana Gróo and Daniel Erdélyi. Erdélyi has been invited to Cannes this year with his new short film 411-Z. The Madzag TV team will examine all 12 titles and present their reviews in the form of short documentaries.
