FUNZINE’s Users’ Manual to SZIGET
Based on our khm…, shall we say, some random hardcore partyheads’ tremendous experiences…
DO’s
…collect plastic pintglasses! Not only because we love eco-conscious parties, but also because you can get free beers if you return a certain amount.
…set sail to SZIGET! Literally. Take a ship from the Jászai Mari tér docks.
…give blood! Preferably on a sober morning. And get your feast (and the warm feeling of good-doing) in return.
…treat yourself to a free lunch at the Krishna tent! Not gourmet, but bio.
…get married! Well, bad news for those looking only for Hungarian citizenship as the holy matrimony is valid only for the duration of the festival.
…visit Ability Park! Challange your senses, try a wheelchair and learn the sign language!
…draw a smiley on your lángos with tejföl.
…show what it takes to be a star at the karaoke stage! Twist your tongues with classics like Tubthumping.
DON’Ts
…take a leek in the bushes. It’s not cool.
…put your cell in your backpocket when you’re heading to a Toi Toi. It might end up in a dark and dangerous zone.
…expect every Dutch to have funny cigarettes to sell! They might just be happy by themselves.
…fight getting muddy. There’s really no point.
…forget hand sanitizer and tissues. Not necessarily for the tears of joy during an oh-so-amazing concert.
…spend too much time trying to drink Russians and Finnish under the table. Unless you’re Russian or Finnish.
…linger around strangers’ tents when tipsy. It’s kinda embarrassing tearing them down to the ground or worse, falling onto one of them.
…rinse with beer during tooth-brushing. Might seem convenient – as you’ll be holding a pint 24/7 – but tastes horrid!
