Go to Szimpla and Get Ruined

Once a cyclist hangout, now a place to flirt with backpackers, this garden ruin pub might look like it’s about to fall down, but its been here long enough to gain an international reputation and a few little sisters along the way.

The building sprawls in different directions like beached dead octopus, so you never feel too crowded despite its popularity and, because it’s in one of those only-in-Budapest enchanting courtyards, there are still enough cozy nooks to sneak off to for a cheeky snog. There are sandwiches so fat that you’ll need to dislocate your jaw to fit them in your mouth, table football, cocktails, Czech beer, a big screen and the sort of music which fits in with the ruin vibe.
