Csók Gallery is organizing an exhibition of the Munkácsy prize winner Gábor Véssey to mark his 60th birthday. The exhibition Story in Silver is a series of paintings including several bigger and a few smaller works, and shows that Véssey remains faithful to his expressive mode of painting.
Nowadays, the painter has reduced the intensity of his earlier almost glitzy style, but still employs doubtlessly vivid and excited colors. Based largely on the use of crayon, the pictures utilize various techniques to address philosophical questions. Via the mere existence of the depicted figures, these questions are broached without a direct effort to answer them. In this way, Véssey involves the observers in the creative process, leading them to relevant answers while looking at the works.
