The Caucasian Challenge is organized by experienced explorers and travel professionals as a way to see areas inaccessible by any other method. Participants head southeast into Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria before leaving the Balkans and crossing the Bosporus Channel into Turkey.
They will then navigate the full length of Turkey into Georgia before heading down to Armenia and the politically uncertain area of Nagorno-Karabakh before reaching the finish line in Yerevan, Armenia. A good indicator of the vehicles making this amazing journey is organizer Attila Berenyi’s official car – an ancient Soviet Moskvich with new windshield wipers, fuzzy dice and rally stickers.
The race will start from Memento Park on the morning of August 30th. The afternoon before, the public will have a chance to meet the brave contenders as well as their very special vehicles at Memento Park.
