Gloria Tranchida’s Environment exhibition, aims to show the value of everyday materials by painting the “throwaway” items on display in gold and other metallic colors.
The Italian artist had the idea for the exhibition while on vacation in Cuba, realizing that there, the people’s need to recycle and reuse materials because of their poverty, was the opposite of the prevalent attitude in our consumerist society.
