Summer on the Chain Bridge

Budapest’s picturesque Chain Bridge becomes a place of music, performances and festivities during the hot summer months. Each weekend until August 17th, the bridge is closed off to traffic to make way for great programs and a mix of visitors.

The performances will include everything from fire jugglers and musicians to dancers and street artists. There will be plenty of vendors all along the bridge selling cold drinks and Hungarian summer specialties as well, as craftsmen offering their handmade wares. Bring the children too as their will be a lot to see and do throughout the day.

On July 19th and 20th during the “crossover” performances, audiences will be able to hear some talents who have used their roots in folk or classical music as a basis to create a new sound – that doesn’t necessarily fit into a genre. Between 4 and 10 p.m., performances by Zuboly, Fugato Orchestra, Navrang and Nicoismus will take place.

Rounding out the month, on July 26th and 27th, the concert theme will be jazz music. Hear some Hungarian favorites including Dés András Trio, Viktor Tóth Tercet, Zamatőrök Orchestra, Trans Balkan Collective and Balázs Elemér Group.
