Brunch and Lunch at Bridge

The Magyar capital’s blessed with numberless gourmet spots, but what if you simply want a quick lunch between your stroll on blossoming Margaret Island and your shopping hunt on bustling körút?

In the spirit of ‘something nice and quick’, recently opened Bridge Café, right next to Margaret Bridge, might be an ideal spot for a good plate of gulyás and some mákostészta (poppy seed pasta; avoid wide smiles afterwards, eds.), for instance. As Bridge Café’s proud of their ever-changing weekly menu and diverse offers, apart from Hungarian goodies, expect a range of international dishes, too. Plus their signature iron-pan dishes.

Are you from the other side of the Alps? Then you must be missing those weekend brunches from home. We guessed so. No more lonely home breakfasts on Sundays! Head to Bridge Café for an enormous ham-and-eggs or, if you fancy sweet tastes to start your day with, try Bridge’s home-made hot choc along with their signature brownie (we heard it’s yummy). It’s also great during those 30 minutes with your morning paper before work. Their Lavazza sortiment will give you a fresh kick for the day.

Would you rather sit outside? No prob. From mid-April on, there’ll be a terrace to chill, surf the internet (aye, they’ve got WIFI) or just watch the world go by. Also, two LCD TVs will be flooding you with Champion’s League and World Cup games, live.

Try their daily three-course lunch menu between 12 and 2:30 p.m. for only 950 HUF! For more info on daily menus, check www.hovamenjek.com and search for Bridge Café.
