So, get your reading glasses at the ready and stockpile all your thoughts and questions, as Zsuzsa will be eager to answer them all.

Zsuzsa Rácz:

But who the heck is Mother Teresa? Well, she’s Kata Kéki, the main character of Rácz’s novel. She’s nearing 30, jobless and partnerless, with a beloved brother and three best friends. The journal-like novel accounts her funny, absurd and sometimes moving adventures encountered while hunting for jobs… and men. Some refer to her as the Hungarian Bridget Jones, others simply call her Mother Teresa.

The exciting young author’s first book,  Kábítószeretet (Love of Addiction) was published in 1998, and is a collection of interviews with young drug addicts. Stop Mother Teresa!, Rácz’s first novel, was published in 2002 and has become one of the biggest success stories of the Hungarian book market, selling in excess of 140,000 copies and having been read by half a million people. It was made into a movie in 2004, voted into the Great Book Top 100 in 2005 and published in Croatia in 2007.

In case all that hasn’t got you scribbling in your diary already, you’ll also be able to get 10% off any foreign language books if you flash your FUNZINE card on the night!
