Summertime is getting closer and so the restaurants of Budapest have already opened their fabulous outdoor lounges to welcome you with a wide range of cool drinks and delicious meals and a chance to enjoy the thrilling whisper of summer.
Baalbek Lebanese Restaurant
Hungary’s first authentic Lebanese restaurant opened its terrace once again this year and now they want you to spend the long spring and summer days with them! Meeting the demand for the Levantine cuisine, Baalbek offers traditional halal dishes like the guest-favourite mixed grill plate topped with a mezze selection, Arabic specialty drinks such as Sahlab, a hot and creamy milk drink with rosewater, and a rich selection of shishas. Swing by with your friends and family for lunch or dinner and enjoy the Arabic hospitality at this cozy terrace under the sunlight.
Feel the Sunshine at Elysée
From 1 May you can enjoy the warm pre-summer breeze at Elysée’s terrace. Located in the marvellous scenery of Kossuth Square, right next to the Parliament the café-slash-bistro offers a beautiful fusion of French and Hungarian style gourmet treats. Welcoming the summer weather, the terrace can seat 50 people and cool you down in the hottest hours. With live music in the background, Elysée’s inviting atmosphere awaits guests with such delicacies as creamy saffron onion soup with grissini, green salad with several dressing options, or duck liver terrine with brioche and rhubarb jam.
Émile
Located in a century-old villa in Buda’s greenbelt, Émile combines the quality and refinement of Gerbeaud and Onyx, two iconic centers of the Budapest culinary scene. Whether you drop by with your business associates, family (newborn babies included, as they have a separate room for new mothers where they can attend to their babies’ needs) or friends, the professional and enthusiastic team of Émile will have a solution for you: the ground floor restaurant will guide you through the world of fine dining, the gallery gives home to a uniquely furnished café where you can spend your breakfast or your cup of afternoon tea, while the gorgeous garden (complete with cabanas) is the perfect spot for enjoying the chirping of birds, sunshine, and a glass of delicious cocktail. At the same time the adults are busy sipping their coffee, kids can occupy themselves in the children’s playroom and with the mini kitchen.
Pagony
Undeniably one of Budapest’s most chill warm weather venues, Pagony is also the city’s most unique outdoor hangout spot, as the garden restaurant is operating in Gellért Baths’ old children’s section – because where else on Earth could you down a glass of wine while sitting in a swimming pool if not in the capital of baths? The tables and chairs are situated inside dried out pools, where you can spend great meals, ranging from burgers and grilled dishes to (courtesy of the plain-dealing kitchen), watch movies screenings, and sip on mad-delicious Czech or Hungarian craft beers, all the while listening to the chirping of sweet little song birds in the trees.
Remiz
Combining the finest compilations of traditional Hungarian flavours with international trends, presenting both real classics and modern favourites in an ageless ambience, Remiz is a peaceful oasis of the always busy capital. Located in the picturesque green scenery of Buda, far from all the hustle and bustle, the restaurant awaits guests with mouth-watering specialties roasted on tufa stones, unique desserts and an enthralling atmosphere. Lay back, slow down and let the emerald of the Buda side amaze you: enjoy the sunbeams in the company of an attentive service and exquisite meals at Remiz.
