European Youth Olympic Festival 2017

The concept of the European Youth Olympic Festival was initiated by Jacques Rogge in 1990, aiming to give the continent’s young athletes a chance to compete on a high level while experiencing the atmosphere and values of the Olympic Movement.

The EYOF is organized in uneven years and in 2017, the prestigious festival will take place in Győr between 23 and 29 July, presenting the talented youth in 10 different sports. Throughout the week-long event, you can see the rising stars of tennis, handball, basketball, athletics, judo, volleyball, cycling, kayak-canoe, swimming and gymnastics. With many record-holder young Hungarians from the previous years, we are excitedly cheering for our athletes this year, too!

The event will also put the picturesque city of Győr in the spotlight with its many famous attractions like the legendary Iron Rooster or the breathtaking baroque monument, the Arc of Covenant.
