MAG kert

MAG kert awaits you with delicious meals and refreshing drinks at Buda’s Kelenföld neighbourhood every day from 11 AM to 11 PM. The cosy venue (complete with a large garden full of beer benches, hammocks, sunshades and flowers), is a true Mecca for BBQ lovers: from spare ribs to spicy chicken wings and pork chops, there’s always something special cooking in MAG kert’s smoker. In case all you want to do is to kick back with a beer or lemonade in hand in the company of your friends, you can do that as well.

Jásdi Borbárkert

1125 Budapest, Kútvölgyi út 57/a

Located in the green belt of Buda, Jásdi Borbárkert is the Budapest headquarter of Csopak’s Jásdi Cellar (once voted as the most beautiful cellar of the Balaton Uplands), one of the Balaton region’s most acclaimed wineries. Borbárkert is Attila Jásdi’s very own home wine bar, situated in the garden of his house, and is open for special events advertised on their Facebook page. Previous events include traditional wine tastings, dinner parties, concerts, bachelorette parties and spit-roasted lamb evenings. Book in advance!

Valyo Kikötő

1095 Budapest, Hajóállomás utca 1.

Located a few minutes’ walk from the Müpa Palace of Arts and right next to the Pest abutment of Rákóczi Bridge, Valyo Kikötő is the latest community project of the Város és Folyó Egyesület (City and River Association). The riverside project’s aim is to revitalize the former industrial area through the establishment of an open-air multifaceted event space, hosting workshops, concerts, art festivals, parties, sports programs and movie screenings. Smart Kitchen Budapest

1053 Budapest, Vámház körút 10.

Situated halfway between Kálvin tér and the Great Market Hall, Smart Kitchen Budapest is the first Chinese fast food restaurant in the EU to create innovative and intelligent methods for cooking traditional Chinese food using state-of-the-art kitchen appliances. Dishes served here include the famous hun-tun soup with chicken, seaweed and kelp, fried noodles with chicken, fried rice with pineapple, and mapo tofu. Smart Kitchen’s main specialty is not a dish, however, but a drink: the babao soy milk is made from 8 different grains, resulting in a truly unique, nutritious beverage.

Tereza

The newest representative of Mexican gastronomy, pastel-coloured Tereza is located on the famous Pest Broadway, in a venue that operated once as the late Bordó Bisztró’s summer terrace. With a kitchen run by the chef duo of Áron Kelemen and Jorge Martinez, Tereza offers authentic Mexican food, all made on the spot, from the crunchy tortillas to the mouth-watering guacamole. Besides mains like carnitas taco and caramelized bone marrow, the self-respecting Mexican restaurant also has a wide variety of Mexican liquors, including tequilas, mezcals, and wines.

Vin.Vin City

Although situated on UNESCO world heritage site Andrássy út, Kodály körönd somehow quietly missed out on the whole Budapest gastro-revolution until now. Vin.Vin City is the second location of Nguyen Tien Sy’s Vietnamese restaurant franchise, awaiting guests with friendly prices, a youthful, sleek design, and all the time-honoured dishes of the Southeast Asian country from pho soups and spring rolls to crunchy duck and breaded banana. Moreover, Vin.Vin City also offers not one, but two bargain-counter lunch menus every day – this is a win-win situation if we’ve ever seen one.

Tiltott Csíki Söröző

In April 2018, the Transylvanian Tiltott Csíki Sör beer brand has opened its first Budapest pub under 35 József körút, easily accessible by tram 4-6 and Metro line M4. In addition to serving their full range of premium quality Transylvanian beers (from unfiltered to blueberry flavoured), the bar also offers beer spirits, liqueurs and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as filling flatbreads with toppings such as ham, cheese, spinach and feta cheese, to help soak up all the nutrients from the liquid pride and glory of Transylvania.

Szabad Tér by Oscar
