World Premiere: Stanley Jordan on Stage in the Cave Theatre of Fertőrákos

The famous jazz guitarist and composer, Stanley Jordan is giving a concert on 30 September, at the cave theatre of Fertőrákos. It’s going to be a world premiere with the bass guitar virtuoso Christian Galvez, and two Hungarian legends, Kornél Horváth (percussion) and Gábor Dörnyei (drums).

Stanley Jordan accepted the invitation mainly because of the extraordinary atmosphere of the theatre. Their exciting performance will include some American vibes spiced up with Brazilian and afro rhythms and mixed with European melodies for the pleasure of the lovers of the genre. And be prepared for several special productions composed of Bartók Béla and Jimi Hendrix songs.

Stanley Jordan is known by his not-so-ordinary guitar technique called „tapping” during which he plays on the neck of the guitar with both of his hands imitating a piano player. This technique made him one of the biggest stars of solo guitar history. And if this wasn’t enough, his music is full of creativity and tenderness that can amaze anyone in the world. He will be accompanied by the bass guitar virtuoso, Christian Galvez, the unique genius from Chile who reminds us of the mainstream and fusion jazz star Pat Martinó. Galvez already has 13 albums with his special bass guitar tunes.

Kornél Horváth , from the Hungarian part of the band, is a Kossuth Award-winner musician who the British Rhythm Magazine Online called the best percussion instrumentalist in the world in 2016. He has contributed to more than 500 albums including jazz, folk, rock, classical, and contemporary songs.

The fourth member of the fabulous music quartet is Gábor Dörnyei who lives, works and teaches in London.  He took part in the famous play: Queen – We will rock you, and also in the Thriller musical. Nowadays he mostly teaches in the Academy of Contemporary Music in London, and holds drum courses in some of the most famous European music academies.
