The 25th Telekom VOLT Festival will be the longest happening of its history so far: between 27 June and 1 July, Sopron will turn into the music capital of the region, attracting the local and the continent’s foreign festivalgoers alike. Of course, we’ll be there, too, excitedly clapping in the crowd till our hands start to hurt. So, to get you into the mood as well, we’d like to showcase some of our favourite names that will definitely make this year’s VOLT another awesome summer adventure!

Linkin Park

Numb, Crawling, Somewhere I Belong, Faint, Breaking the Habit – If you were a teen during the 2000s, Linkin Park was probably one of your favourites, too. It was certainly among my favourite bands, the songs of Hybrid Theory and Meteora still appear on my playlist from time to time. The trailblazers of nu and rap metal will make you jump up and down on 27 June!

Imagine Dragons

Last time the American rock band visited Budapest, I was lucky enough to be in the frantic crowd, chanting the hit songs Radioactive, Demons and Roots along with Dan Reynolds. Imagine Dragons rose to fame in 2012 with their debut studio album Night Visions and their first single “It’s Time”, and has been becoming more and more popular ever since. They will surely give a kickass concert within the confines of the Sopron festival on 1 July, too!

Ellie Goulding

The British singer-songwriter first conquered the charts back in 2010 with her studio album Lights, selling close to a million copies in the UK alone. She performed her cover of Elton John’s Your Song on the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Her unique sound and soulful lyrics are mixed with kicking beats and an extraordinary voice that is both strong and fragile at the same time. She takes the stage of VOLT on 28 June.

Fatboy Slim

English DJ Norman Quentin Cook, the ambassador of the big beat genre and one of the most popular artists of the 1990s will surely entertain the audience of VOLT with his amazing legacy that changed the world of music forever. Prepare yourself for another unforgettable Fatboy Slim concert on 26 June!

Paramore

The American punk-rock band has been around for quite a while: in 2002, a group of teenagers started to practise together in Franklin, Tennessee, and though they were young and without experience, their passion for music made them absolutely outstanding. The characteristic voice of Hayley Williams and the rumbling bass will shake up the audience on 30 June!

Years & Years

The popular British electronica trio mixes the elements of electronic, pop, R&B music and the 1990s house genre. Climbing the UK charts in an instant with their single King, the exciting beats and thrilling tunes of the London based formation will be your next favourite thing at VOLT festival – 29 June!

Jess Glynne

The sharp voiced, charismatic singer has dominated the charts with several hits since her appearance in 2014. The English vocalist-songwriter’s unique style quickly became popular not only in the UK, but all around the globe. Her concert on 29 June promises nothing less than an absolutely fantastic time for the audience!

Fritz Kalkbrenner

German DJ and brother of Paul Kalkbrenner became increasingly popular since producing the soundtrack of Berlin Calling in 2008, in cooperation with his sibling. Fritz’s music differentiates from his brother’s as he’s more into warmer electro-soul sounds. He’ll be spinning his highly praised records at VOLT on 30 June!

Lost Frequencies

At the age of only 23, Belgian DJ Felix De Laet – a.k.a. Lost Frequencies – managed to become one of the most renowned names of his genre. He will bring you a series of kicking beats on 29 June at the stage of VOLT Festival to make sure you enjoy the summer vibes as much as possible – “Are You With Me?”
