When it’s burning hot outside and the inside temperature is rapidly raising, you probably feel like the only way to survive is to put your head in the freezer. Fortunately, we’ve got some better ideas. Here are 4 summer drinks to cool yourself down with!
#1 Watermelon Cocktail
Summer’s juicy, low-calorie fruit has several health benefits: watermelon is high in vitamins, helps lower the cholesterol, thus it’s good for the heart, and it keeps the body hydrated. Why wouldn’t you make a refreshing watermelon drink? It’s really simple: dice watermelon, freeze it, and finally, blend the mixture with vodka and Prosecco. (Hint: without alcohol it makes a delicious slushy.) It’s a blast in a glass!
#2 Lemonade with a Twist
Forget about the heat wave with a glass of boozy lemonade granite! The ingredients: 1 cup water, honey to taste, 2 cups lemon juice (freshly squeezed), half cup vodka or gin. All you have to do is stir the ingredients in a bigger bowl and freeze it for 10-20 minutes. Be creative and serve them in hollowed-out lemons!
#3 Fruity Ice Cubes
Who is ready for a splash of fun? Make fruit-infused ice cubes and quench your thirst with a glass of cold water or the drink of your choice! Blend your favourite flavours (peeled orange, beetroot juice, kiwi, banana, fresh blueberries, strawberry, etc.) one by one with maple syrup and coconut cream until smooth, then fill the ice cube tray. Feel free to layer the different flavours!
#4 Rosé Jell-o
Are you ready for a delicious gelatine treat? Sparkling rosé wine and vodka (with a citrus twist) will take you back to those never-to-forget college years with fun memories, including boozy jell-o shots. You’ll need 3 cups of rosé, ¼ cup of sugar, 1 cup of vodka, 30 gr powdered gelatine and lemon peel for garnish. Add boiling water to the mixture of gelatine and sugar, then stir until dissolved. When it starts thickening, add rosé and vodka. When it is cool enough, serve in champagne glasses. Voilá!
