The Sweet Side of Life: Best Bake Shops in Budapest

We all love to grab something sweet after a long day at work, don’t we? We know some cool places to try in case you crave for the best desserts.

Habos Gofri

There is no doubt that the best waffles in town can be purchased in Habos Gofri. They are always deliciously crispy, and freshly made according to a family recipe. You can choose between 18 toppings – needless to say, the simple Nutella waffles are as good as the more abundant chestnut cream ones with whipped cream on top.

Daubner Cukrászda

Daubner is one of Budapest’s most famous bakeries. They have been fulfilling our sweet wishes for 116 years now. They offer a wide range of cakes, chocolate, ice cream, parfait, and scones – try them all! You will have no regrets.

Domi’s Bake Shop

This tiny little spot in the heart of Budapest is run by a gifted, young girl called Domi. Thanks to her beautifully made sweets, Domi’s Bake Shop became a well-known place among city dwellers where even those who eat only lactose-free and/or gluten-free products can find something to enjoy.

Sweetheart – Waffle & Shake Bar

Third wave waffles and shakes? We’re in. Sweetheart reimagined the concept of these two, and created a unique menu – we tried seasonal treats like the Raspberry Oreo Cheesecake Shake, and the Pumpkin Spice Waffle with handmade jam and pear pieces. You can find them in Wesselényi Street.

There’s a small cake shop called Édesem nearby Millenáris park which was opened in 2015 following the success of a gastro blog with the same name. Szonja Márk, the owner of the place created a warm, friendly environment in which it is a pleasure to enjoy some of her sweets.
