Sunday brunch is a thing. We discovered the best breakfast spots in Budapest, and they have something in common: they are all dog-friendly. Sunday brunch just got even better. Here’s the best five of our favourites.
Double shot
Double Shot is one of thirteenth district’s hidden treasures. The first thing that grabbed our attention was the decor of this tiny 3rd wave place which couldn’t be any cooler. Breakfast-lovers and their other halves (a.k.a. pets) can choose between delicious breakfast meals (we would recommend avocado on toast), all types of coffee of excellent quality, and on weekdays, even daily soups.
Kuglóf Bisztró
We have found one of the cosiest places in Budapest. Kuglóf offers something special to its visitors for every part of the day: royal breakfast in the mornings, tasty daily menus at lunchtime, and delicious wine repertoire in the evenings. Besides, they make fine pastries, designer cakes, and you can even see the Danube from their terrace. What else do we need?
Törökméz
Törökméz invites you to try their freshly roasted coffee, locally made pastries, delicious breakfast (which they serve all day), ham and cheese platter, and other delicacies from all parts of the world. We’re pretty much convinced.
Csendes Társ
Right at the entrance of Károlyi kert, you can find Csendes Társ, a little green spot which saves all Budapestians from drowning in the concrete jungle. You can spend a lovely afternoon at this peaceful oasis while tasting one (or some) of their breakfast specials, and sipping coffee on their terrace.
My Little Melbourne
This unique spot is located in the heart of the city, on Madách tér, and offers exclusively filter coffees to try. Apart from their famous coffee, there is no lack in fresh juices, refreshments, pastries, or sandwiches either. If you are a coffee-lover at heart, this is going to be the one for you.
