The country\u2019s largest international handicraft festival will be held at Buda Castle for the 32th time from 17th to 20th August. <\/strong><\/p>\n

It is the most anticipated festival for the families where children and adults can get to know the culture of folk objects, try folk crafts, admire the artwork of nearly 1000 craftsmen, meet with mammoth-bone carvings, fish skin sewers, bow makers, or other special representative of craftsmanship. The festival is awaiting visitors with concerts, special performances and child-friendly activities including a folk playground.<\/p>\n

This year, the main theme of the event will be weaving and knitting, and festival-goers can learn some behind-the-scenes tricks and interesting facts about how materials like wool and hemp are processed. Visitors (children too) can also participate at different creative workshops.<\/p>\n

Traditionally being a family event, the Festival of Folk Arts is one of the side events of the Year of Families. This year the colourful festival is awaiting visitors with even more programs targeting families, including the introduction on prestigious Hungarian craftsman dynasties.<\/p>\n
