As a way of expressing our deepest gratitude and appreciation towards the river, we collected some of our favourite activities related to it!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-funzine-large wp-image-315339\" src=\"https:\/\/funzine.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/14451958289_f3d078c874_k-850x478.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>About Danube Day<\/h3>\n<p>Being one of Europe\u2019s greatest rivers, Danube (Hungarian Duna) deserves to be celebrated. Thanks to the joint agreement between 14 countries of the Danube Basin, ICPDR* Danube Day takes place every year on 29 June, with hundreds of events organized across the area. The week-long celebration aims at strengthening \u201criver solidarity\u201d among the Ukraine, Slovakia, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Moldova, Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Hungary, and promotes the importance of joining forces and getting active for a healthier, cleaner Danube.<\/p>\n<h3>Celebrate with us!<\/h3>\n<p>#1 Get on the funicular on the way up to Buda Castle, and enjoy the view there! It\u2019s one of the best spots to take photos with Danube in the background.<\/p>\n<p>#2 Climb Gell\u00e9rt-hegy, Budapest\u2019s highest hill overlooking the river! The panorama is spectacular.<\/p>\n<p>#3 Enjoy a glass of wine at Pontoon!
