Not only did she build\u00a0her\u00a0vivid paintings of gravity-defying shapes,\u00a0but she got really famous for it. The movie\u00a0titled <em>Who Dares Wins\u00a0<\/em>about her life and artworks is recognized worldwide, and is screened in Toldi Cinema\u00a0on 3 March, during the <a href=\"http:\/\/filmnapok.kek.org.hu\/en\/\">Budapest Architecture Film Days<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The film by\u00a0Lindsey Hanlon and Roger Parsons\u00a0visits her buildings across the globe, from Austria to Azerbaijan to find out\u00a0how Zaha Hadid earned her nickname &#8220;The queen of the curve&#8221;. The movie premiered in 2013, three years before her tragic death.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Born in Baghdad in 1950 and based in London, Zaha Hadid<span class=\"ml__ellipsis\"><span class=\"ml__hidden\"> was perhaps the most successful female architect ever. Her artworks include the London Olympic Aquatic Centre, the\u00a0Peak in Hong Kong, Kurf\u00fcrstendamm 70 in Berlin and the Cardiff Bay opera house in Wales. She became the first female recipient of the Pritzker architecture prize in 2004 and the\u00a0Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) gold medal, that she managed to win twice.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ml__ellipsis\"><span class=\"ml__hidden\"> She was one of a handful of global superstar designers who have changed the way people think about the world through buildings. Her death shocked not only the public and the architects close to her, but the fashion society as well, since she was acknowledged in both fields.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Speaking in February on BBC Radio 4\u2019s Desert Island Discs, Hadid said: \u201cI don\u2019t really feel I\u2019m part of the establishment. I\u2019m not outside, I\u2019m on the kind of edge, I\u2019m dangling there. I quite like it \u2026 I\u2019m not against the establishment per se.
