Hungary’s most acknowledged film festival, the Jameson CineFest held in Miskolc will be organized between 8-17 September. Both film enthusiasts and film experts are invited to take part in the wide range of interesting programs.
The festival traditionally focuses on the works of the new, younger generation, that is why they launched a new competition called CineNewWave last year. All Hungarian directors between the age of 18 and 35 are allowed to apply with their short films, even if they were created as part of the applicants’ studies. It is advantageous if the film is first broadcast in Hungary at the competition, however, it is not strictly expected. The competition is free of charge.
The deadline is 31 July – for more info, click HERE. The grand prize of CineNewWave is one million forints, while the chosen films will be displayed at Jameson CineFest. The creators can be present at the screening and other programs of the festival as well.
