A real slice of the Emerald Isle, it’s something we’ve been long missing from Budapest’s pub-land. When we headed to Guinness House, I’m not going to lie, I had my doubts and was already prepared for another touristy, stereotypical, whiskey-in-the-jar pub; another pint of disappointment. Surprisingly, what I found there was neither what I expected, nor a snug, wooden-decked tiny local.

Ten years ago, a mysterious wine named St. Andrea, known to no one until the award ceremony, won a grand gold medal at the Eger Wine Competition. At the very second of the award’s presentation, the wine’s proud owner, Dr. György Lőrincz, carved a well-earned spot into Hungary’s vino-map. In the same year, he also became the Eger Wine Producer of the Year!
