Of the 76 fish species in Hungary, a full 41 of them live in Balaton. In the evenings, try your hand at fi shing for fogas, known as pike perch in English, or its little brother süllő. Don’t be surprised if an eel bites, and watch out, they can be as big as 25 kg! Beginners usually end up with a bass, and sometimes bream will bite. If you get yourself a fishing permit, you can toss your bait in two ways. Usually it’s permitted to fish on the piers and at the campground beaches, but if you’re looking to fi sh in style, try the eastern side of the Tihany peninsula, the Tagore Promenade at Balatonfüred, or the stretch near Balatonalmádi where you can tool out to your own little fi shing pier and watch the sun set. | A magyar tengeren minden horgász megtalálja a számítását, hiszen a 76 hazai halfajtájából 41 itt él. Esténként érdemes fogasra és kisebb testvérére, a süllőre vadászni, de gyakran horogra akadhat egy súlyosabb angolna is (elérheti a 25 kg-ot is!). A kezdő horgászok első nagy fogása általában a csapó sügér, de keszeg is sűrűn kerül a szákjukba. Ha van horgászengedélyed, a Balatonon két különböző módon pecázhatsz: általában a mólókon és a kempingek strandján szabad horgászni, de ha igazán stílusos helyre vágysz, a Tihanyi-félsziget keleti oldalán, a balatonfüredi Tagore sétányon és a balatonalmádi „4 méteres” szakaszon is lógathatsz. Persze, az igazi profi k nem a parton pecáznak, hanem a Balaton közepén, csónakokon várják a nagy fogást. Ha inkább biztosra mennél, több horgásztó is vár a környéken. A buzsáki, fonyódi, irmapusztai, siófok-töreki és varázslói tógazdaságokban csak úgy nyüzsögnek a halak. De ne feledd, engedély nélkül szigorúan tilos horgászni!
