At the International School of Budapest, kids have great fun discovering the wide world of books in a two-month series of events. Last year, the theme of the book festival was a game called “I Caught You Reading!” that drew in students from preschoolers to middleschoolers.

ISB linked its festival to the Oxford Reading Tree Marathon, and at the end, the formerly empty tree’s branches were full of leaves symbolizing all the English-language books the kids had read. The festival concludes with a Book Fair featuring English and Hungarian children’s and youth books in March.

ISB is a friendly, Prep – Grade 8, elementary school with an international and a bilingual Programme. The international programme follows the English National Curriculum and students are expected to reach the same or higher levels of achievement as their counterparts in the UK. ISB is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).
